The Metropolitan Film School
seeks to inspire, develop and support individuals who
want to become filmmakers.
Our teaching philosophy
and standards are based on the following beliefs:
A good film requires a good story
and all aspiring filmmakers must first understand
the principles of story-telling for the screen.
The best way to learn how to
make films is to practice making films in a supported
environment, and to appreciate that mistakes are
as important in the learning process as moments
Filmmaking instructors should
be active practitioners who are as passionate about
teaching as they are about film.
Our commitment to our students
should not end with the last course. The school
continues to support its filmmaking community by
providing ongoing access to other filmmakers, screenings,
production services, festival & funding news
& other relevant events.
Our partners include the
National Film and Television School

to Screen in Eight Weeks and Complete Script
Development: Shorts. Furthermore one of our founders
is the Picturehouse cinema group which is committed
